Dawn Howeth is an Essex County resident whose love of the Northern Neck’s landscape, people, pets and culture is reflected in both her personal and professional photography. Originally an x-ray technologist by trade, Dawn was drawn to the lens, patiently teaching herself the intricacies of digital photography and editing.
As her schedule allowed, Dawn began offering her photography services around the Tappahannock area, focusing on her clients’ personal milestones, leading to the creation of Picture This by Dawn.
As evidenced in her photography, Dawn is drawn to natural light and its movements across her cameras’ frames. When she is not capturing area pets, high school seniors and their personalities, she loves to shoot landscapes, sunsets, sunrises, and Great Blue Herons. Her sunrise and sunset shots over the Rappahannock River have gained regional and national attention.
Dawn, her husband, Jeff, and their son, Robbie, call the shores of the Rappahannock River home. When she is not behind her camera, Dawn can be found babying her poodles, their new lab Puppy, expanding her vintage camera collection, or delighting in anything pink—her favorite color.
